Barrie Vagg Packaging commenced operation in 1974 selling mainly brown kraft paper rolls and sheets, white news paper, tissue paper, sisal lashing, jute twine and ropestock and gummed tape.
Originally a lot of our business was done with the clothing manufacturing industry but over the years some of this has been lost to overseas and more business has been done with the retail side of that industry.
The product range has expanded greatly over the years, and now includes paper and plastic bags, garment bags, dry cleaners' bags, bubblewrap, stretch wrap and shrink film, "Invoice Enclosed" self adhesive envelopes, polypropylene & steel strapping, cartons (new and second hand) and all sorts of packing tapes and carry bags.
The introduction of carry bags has (historically speaking ) been a relatively recent phenomenon and we have seen these evolve from plastic to paper and now other more environmentally friendly products such as non-woven polypropylene, calico, and degradable plastic.
